Magnet Schools & Programs

The Office of Academic Enhancement offers magnet schools, magnet cluster schools, and open enrollment schools, all of which can be applied to using the STANDARD APPLICATION. While magnet schools usually offer transportation to students living between 1.5 and 6 miles from the school and do not have attendance boundaries, magnet cluster schools do not offer transportation, and do have attendance boundaries. In both cases, available spaces are filled through a computerized lottery process. Open enrollment schools are neighborhood schools without a magnet program focus area, but accept students outside of the attendance area through the application and lottery process. |
